By Debbie Pearson (Jamie Oliver website)Ingredients450g of cubed steak1-2 bottles of good beer (with extra to serve at dinner)1 can of chopped tomatoes1 chopped onion250g chopped button mushroomsblack pepperMethod1. Using a large frying saucepan (not sure of the proper name) fry the chopped onion until golden brown before adding the mushroom, fry these for about a minute before adding the steak and the juices from the steak.2. When the steak has browned on the outside (so still raw inside) add enough of the drink to just cover the steak and no more until most of the liquid has been soaked up.3. At this point add the tin of tomatoes and mix all together in the pan, once this has all warmed up again add in the rest of the first bottle with a pinch of pepper before lowering the heat to simmer for an hour covered.4. When you check on the stew an hour later, add more black pepper to get the favour you want and add the second can of drink (if you wish) and continue cooking.5. After this point once you are starting to feel hungry just heat up so the sauce thickens up and serve.
